“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.” ~Ernest Boyer, Jr.
We do not get involved in sin to create problems...we do so to fill a void in our lives that we're not allowing God to fill.
“It is not what we say or feel that makes us what we are. It is what we do.....or fail to do.” Marianne, BBC 2007 production of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility” ~Andrew Davies
"A man who lies to himself, and believes his own lies, becomes unable to recognize truth, either in himself or in anyone else, and he ends up losing respect for himself and for others. When he has no respect for anyone, he can no longer love, and in him, he yields to his impulses, indulges in the lowest form of pleasure, and behaves in the end like an animal in satisfying his vices. And it all comes from lying to others and to yourself."~ Dostoevsky
A massive cultural change would stop abortions, no matter what our "leaders" do or don't do. Yes, prayer is what's needed.
ReplyDeleteMany young people want to make a difference in the world. If you are faced with an unwanted pregnancy, it only takes 40 weeks to save a life.
There are absolutely no words to describe the way watching that clip makes me feel. Those actions are absolutely indefensible. I don't understand how nurses could hold a baby, put it down and leave him or her to die. These are human beings! I could never just leave someone to die - to die alone - to die without being loved. God help us all!

I thought it was maybe of interest to others: I read Chinese, and the character shown right at the beginning means "truth."
ReplyDeleteMike,

Diane,

I was thinking, "How on earth can nurses do that?" And then I remembered. One of my babies was born at Christ hospital. I HATED that hospital. They took my baby and made excuse after excuse as to why I couldn't see him. Finally after 16 HOURS, my hubby demanded that our baby be brought to us, and they finally did. The nurses there were just awful. Uncaring. And they have to be in order to leave babies to die. Makes me sick to my stomach.
