The Trouble with Gift Wrap!

I have trouble with gift wrap at this time of year...how about you?

Here are my two main problems - first of all - most of it has "Santa" related pictures...from Santa himself to elves and reindeer.  I don't want Santa things in my home.  (This is not to say anything detrimental about your home and your choices...please understand that!).

The other problem is quality - most of this paper is printed in China and is so thin you can almost see through it.  I find that when I wrap presents, often the corners of the packages pop through.  Sigh...what's a mama to do?

I was contacted some weeks ago by a lovely woman about my Tradition of the Straws. (I'll be reposting that article later this week).  She was seeking permission to repost my tradition on her company's website - they are looking for ideas on how to celebrate Jesus.  I checked out the website...(I'm cynical wise cautious that way).

Lo and behold....her company makes gift wrap - beautiful gift wrap!  The name of the company is First Christmas Gift Wrap.   There are several styles...here are just a couple...

And even one for children...

And the quality - oh my!  This is heavy duty wrapping paper...and the best part...printed here in the USA!  You'll notice that they are also giving 20% of their profit this month to "Rapha House, a series of safehouses where children rescued from human trafficking in SE Asia receive care, counseling and whatever else they need to succeed." I think that says a lot about a company!

Check out their site - there's a section on crafts - things you can make using their wrapping paper - I love the wall hanging!  There's a place where your child can submit a picture they have colored or painted.  You can even have input into what designs they print next year - very cool.  If you are an artist....well, there's a page for you if you'd like to submit a design.

So....this very nice company sent me some wrapping paper to pass on to my dear readers!  Since there is not enough to send to all of you...we're going to have a drawing.  We are going to put names into a pot and I'll have Doodle draw out a name on Monday night.  Winner will be announced on Tuesday so I can send it to you in time to use this year.  I believe the only way to mail this is in a long Priority tube - I'll pay the shipping.  You should have it before the end of the week!  I'll even throw in a soap ball or two!

Here's how you can get your name added to the drawing - choices...choices....do as many as you like - we'll add your name once for each thing you do!

Be sure to comment here - or drop me an email and let me know which things you have done so I know how many times to put your name in the drawing!

There will be three winners!  One of you will receive a roll of the Children's Giftwrap.  This is a huge roll - 30 inches x 10 feet!

The other two winners will receive 1 sheet each of the following gift wraps: Shepherds, Stars, Wise Men and A Child is Born.

Don't forget - drawing will close at eight p.m. on Monday and we'll announce the winners Tuesday morning!  I'll mail the packages no later than Tuesday afternoon.

Happy Wrapping!

Blessings,

  1. I agree about the gift wrap. I look for designs without characters. I find that heavy gift wrap is necessary for the Operation Shoe Boxes I do each year. The kids keep their boxes as treasures.

I have been using your Breathe Easy Chest Rub for several months now and it helps me to sleep through the night without any congestion -- it smells great and just does the trick for me. Thank you so much for such a wonderful product.

  6. I can't tell you a favorite product because I have never tried any yet. (Uh, I think I just found you a month ago.) But, after looking at what you have to offer, I think my favorite product might be your Aches Away Soap or maybe the Baby's Breath or...it is hard to choose you know!

Thanks for this nice giveaway and happy holidays!

As far as favorite products go, I've only placed one order quite a while ago and like all I got. I especially like the dog shampoo soap and the healing salve. I need to place another order ASAP.
