Which contradicts what was said in this review. I was very surprised and wish I could remember where I saw it. (Proverbs 10:14 KJV)

You are correct about the very few people who know about GMOs, and how near their mouths are to the potentially destructive ill effects of the food that they are probably already eating which contains them.

At Acres Of Hope America, what amazes and concerns us the most, is how little the body of Christ knows about where or how our food is produced, and what our priestly stewardship responsibility is in caring for His creation and His temple.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4:6 KJV)

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. (1 Corinthians 3:16-17 NASB)

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31. (NIV)

An urgent priority of the Acres Of Hope America ministry is to inform and educate the church on the World’s insidious and alarming seizure and control of America’s farming and food systems. We have created a live teaching presentation titled, “Reclaiming and Restoring America’s Farming and Food Systems for Christ.” For the past six months we have targeted churches, parishes and Christian groups throughout the Southeast with this educational message.

We have found from conducting these presentations, that when people are presented the truth about how and where our food comes from, and how it is counter to God’s creative and sustaining plan, the overwhelming response we receive is one of alarming shock and anger. We are encouraging and mobilizing many of these folks to move past surprise and emotion to becoming part of the corrective solution by actively supporting responsible local small farmers and ranchers (especially Christian agrarians) with more of their food purchases. We are also pointing them to resources to be better informed and to become small farm advocates and consumer activists for local, nutritious and safer food supplies.

We have recently purchased and reviewed the “Future of Food” DVD. We have found it very informative and creditable. We also highly recommend it.

The Acres Of Hope America presentation mentioned above covers many of the same facts on genetic engineering and the unjust intellectual property rights these global corporate giants are using as a government sanctioned oppressive weapon. Our presentation goes beyond GM to a broader overview of the farming and food crisis and the devastating impact on small farmers and rural communities. Our teachings are founded and presented from a biblical worldview.

We are planning to publish a Bible-based “Future of Food” facilitator’s guide to be used in conjunction with the “Future of Food” DVD for those wishing to inform and witness to family and friends. This resource when published will be available as a free download from www.acresofhopeamerica.org.

Cheri, thank you for the great contribution you are making in your travels and on your informative and inspiring blog.

God blessBarry Morganhttp://www.acresofhopeamerica.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6994967819405801133.post-86990178201794080742007-01-12T00:11:10.000-05:002007-01-12T00:11:10.000-05:00CheriCould you comment further about your concerns...Cheri

Could you comment further about your concerns re using a microwave? I have heard that they give off "something" that's not good to be around when in use, but what about the effect on the food? I've also heard dishwashers give off something that's not good for you too. Would like to clarify my thinking so I can better decide where to draw the line on these things. Thanks!Theresanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6994967819405801133.post-31826980612746476752007-01-12T01:44:43.000-05:002007-01-12T01:44:43.000-05:00May I share something with Theresa? As for the microwave, we have not used one in 13 years. I recall my husband referring to the use of it as "nuking it." That should tell you something. :-) Does anyone remember when we were children and young adults being told not to sit close to the t.v. or for very long? Is it not emitting those same things? And the same is true for the computer, I think. Now I'm stepping on toes. It is incredibly enlightening! I was shocked and horrified at how our food is being genetically engineered. I don't like that idea at all!! I went from ignorance to informed and interested very quickly. I am learning so much. My husband has always been interested in growing food, now I am too. I'm concerned and alarmed for our family and our freedom. We are working toward self-sufficiency as much as possible. And the loss of our freedoms...unbelievable! Learning to raise our own food - something everyone used to know - is necessary once again if we want to have "authentic" food not laced with GMOs, drugs, or human genes. Welcome to the bandwagons :)
CheriTNfarmgirlhttp://www.sweethollowfarm.comnoreply@blogger.com
