“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.” ~Ernest Boyer, Jr.
We do not get involved in sin to create problems...we do so to fill a void in our lives that we're not allowing God to fill.
“It is not what we say or feel that makes us what we are. It is what we do.....or fail to do.” Marianne, BBC 2007 production of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility” ~Andrew Davies
"A man who lies to himself, and believes his own lies, becomes unable to recognize truth, either in himself or in anyone else, and he ends up losing respect for himself and for others. When he has no respect for anyone, he can no longer love, and in him, he yields to his impulses, indulges in the lowest form of pleasure, and behaves in the end like an animal in satisfying his vices. And it all comes from lying to others and to yourself."~ Dostoevsky
Let's see. A watering can next to a raised bed enclosed by a fence under a tree out in a field. hmmm. Lemme think on that ...
ReplyDeleteMy guess is a composting pile or is it something to do with vermicomposting?
ReplyDeleteSandra
P.S. I'm a homeschool mom too - to five kids. :) I love your blog! It's one of the best I've read in a long time.
Zed...let me know what you come up with :)

Hi Sandra,
So glad you enjoy the blog - thanks so much.
It doesn't have anything to do with composting...of any kind :) Good guess though!
Blessings,
Cheri
Shucks! Vermicomposting was my guess, too... after designating a family cemetery. :o
ReplyDeleteHi Heidi,
ReplyDeleteOddly...yours wasn't the only suggestion of a cemetary :)
Blessings,
Cheri
If there's a fence around it, you want the animals not to get to it. It's by a tree, so whatever it is, it's good for the tree. Unless it needs shade from a tree...
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking....
Good Christine! I am protecting it from animals - especially chickens.

Cheri,
ReplyDeleteWhat in the world are you growing over there??? I have always wondered what you would use that concrete container for, but I have never asked.
grace and peace,
julie
I know.... You are going to grow lettuce under your tree. =) That will be shade for it and the fence keeps animals from eating it.
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteWe used it as a feed trough for awhile - then I wanted to do something else with it but it never got put in the proper place....the boys did that for me a few weeks ago... :)
Cheri
golly ~ I haven't a clue!?!
ReplyDeletebut - that is truly a lovely tree!
how long are you going to keep us in suspense? :-)
have a blessed day ~ Tracy
Oh I know. You're raising vegan invisible dogs. Sweet!
ReplyDeleteMarci beat me to it. That was my guess too... a lettuce bed underneath the tree.
ReplyDeleteWorms? Are you "growing" earthworms?
ReplyDeleteHmm..my other guess is manure logs. LOL! I'm sure that sounds really funny especially if that's not what it is.
ReplyDeleteI say worms, you want a worm bed???
ReplyDeleteA wild guess: berries, except I do not see the bare roots.
ReplyDeleteHow creating an environment for growing Mushrooms? Or... how about an safe, warm environment for Toads, or ground beattles? You have me stumped, too. I'm going to be thinking on this a while...
