“God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.” ~Ernest Boyer, Jr.
We do not get involved in sin to create problems...we do so to fill a void in our lives that we're not allowing God to fill.
“It is not what we say or feel that makes us what we are. It is what we do.....or fail to do.” Marianne, BBC 2007 production of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility” ~Andrew Davies
"A man who lies to himself, and believes his own lies, becomes unable to recognize truth, either in himself or in anyone else, and he ends up losing respect for himself and for others. When he has no respect for anyone, he can no longer love, and in him, he yields to his impulses, indulges in the lowest form of pleasure, and behaves in the end like an animal in satisfying his vices. And it all comes from lying to others and to yourself."~ Dostoevsky
i'm just saying, do you really think there is a chance of this making a difference. our constitution was decimated in 1970 when abortion was legalized, but like you said, i'm just saying,ha
ReplyDeleteKay,
ReplyDeleteIt would be a good start if we began to follow the constitution again. However, a friend pointed out to me today that if we spent as much time talking/complaining about things as we did praying for our elected officials THAT would make a difference.
Love ya!
Cheri
Do you really believe this nonsense? Ignorant, bible thumping Americans like you are what is wrong with our country. What did George Bush do for you, or any of us for that matter, other than kill innocent children in Iraq and ruin our economy?
ReplyDeleteI absolutely do believe this. I also don't like George Bush nor did I vote for him. I do care about our Constitution and feel that it should be followed. which means those running for office need to be willing and able to prove that they qualify for the office of President. Why Mr. Obama will not do so, when it is such a simple thing, is an enigma to me.
ReplyDeleteWhat the Bible has to do with this is beyond me. I am against socialism and communism and have a great desire to see our country remain a sovereign nation. I don't think either the Replublicans or the Democrats have that same desire as a whole, although there are some men and women of integrity serving on the Hill.
The fact that you hide behind an "anonymous" email and call names says a lot - normally I would delete this comment. If you don't have the courage to own your own words, I don't feel any obligation to give you a platform.
However, I wanted to set the record straight...just because someone opposes Obama does not automatically mean they support the "other side".
Blessings,
Cheri
jsyk, I'm not "sickened"
ReplyDeletebut I AM lol'ing pretty hard at the video.
Cheri,
ReplyDeleteI just found your site and I love it. I am very discouraged right now in the Washington mess.
I have a question...do you think that God has told so many Christians to prepare and become self sufficient for a reason? If so couldn't this be the reason.
Know you're not alone... God hit me with it at the end of 2003 to be more self-sufficient...and I've worked towards that ever since.
God Bless.
